Deuteronomy 25

Devotional:
“You must use accurate scales when you weigh out merchandise, and you must use full and honest measures. (Deuteronomy 25:13-14)

The passage is about being honest in our interactions with others. The day is often filled with people functioning and measuring by selfish desires rather than what is fair and what God desires. Beyond the etiquette of honesty, understand that this command protects us from the disturbing effects of shame and guilt. Live your life with passion…as if you actually believe being a child of God is the greatest gift of all! Let that excitement drive the way you treat others “fairly” today! What does fairness look like in the workplace, the home, the school, and church?
Pray it:
Father, help me to be honest in the way I interact with all people in all places. Help me not to show favoritism towards some or take advantage of any, and lead me to love and serve like Jesus. Amen.
