Pslam 55

Devotional:
My heart pounds in my chest. The terror of death assaults me. Fear and trembling overwhelm me, and I can’t stop shaking….but I am trusting you to save me. (Psalm 55:4-5, 23b)

This isn’t exactly an upbeat Psalm. The fear and anxiety that David is feeling is palpable, yet before he gets an answer from God, he makes a choice. David chooses to trust as he is drowning in fear. Life can be scary. Choose to trust, even when you feel like fear is crushing you. Even when life is overwhelming, God is ready to overwhelm you with love, so give your broken heart to Him.
Pray it:
Father, thank you for your great love and promise to sustain me even in overwhelming times. Help me to remember when others oppose me or betray me, you remain for me and faithful to me. Amen.
