Deuteronomy 30

Devotional:
“This command I am giving you today is not too difficult for you, and it is not beyond your reach.  It is not kept in heaven, so distant that you must ask, ‘Who will go up to heaven and bring it down so we can hear it and obey?’ It is not kept beyond the sea, so far away that you must ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to bring it to us so we can hear it and obey?’ No, the message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart so that you can obey it. (Deuteronomy 30:11-14)

Fully realizing God’s closeness – allowing Him to fully indwell our heart and soul – is a hurdle we all struggle with. Guilt, shame and insecurities eat away our God-given abilities to live and proclaim truth and love in Jesus. Confess your weakness to God today and allow the Holy Spirit to fill you to a contagious, overflowing level…so that you can hear it and do it! Others will see it.
Pray it:
Father, help me to remember that you are not far away and that your commands are neither mysterious nor impossible because of the presence of the Holy Spirit in my life. Help me to recall your words as I go about my day today and to obey them through the power of the Holy Spirit in me.
