Devotional:
Praise the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone does such wonderful things. Praise his glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and amen! (Psalm 72:18-19)
God is worthy of our praise. Period. It’s okay to cry out to God, to seek Him, to ask for things, but we should never cease in blessing His name. Everything good, everything holy and pure, everything that makes our hearts leap for joy comes from God alone. Bless His name through which everything was made and is sustained. Bless His name because it is glorious and eternal. Bless His name because someday its glory will fill and cover this dark world with His glorious light! Let all the weight and darkness of this fallen world be just a faint remembrance of a half-forgotten dream as every fiber of your being strives to rise in ever-increasing praise of the name above all names. Bless the Lord, O my soul! Amen and amen!
