Deuteronomy 31

Devotional:
Then the Lord commissioned Joshua son of Nun with these words: “Be strong and courageous, for you must bring the people of Israel into the land I swore to give them. I will be with you.” (Deuteronomy 31:23)

God continues to raise new leaders for the next leg of the journey as we await the coming of Christ, our Savior. Joshua was handed quite the responsibility — the privilege to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. He did not earn the position, but was commissioned to lead. The question for all God’s children is not “Can you lead?” but “Do you lead for the cause of Christ when given the opportunity?” Are you looking for, and open to, the opportunities God may have for you?
Pray it:
Father, thank you for the leaders you supply for your people, both those I read about in Scripture and those that are in my life. Help me to recognize where I have influence and to be strong and courageous wherever you lead me. Amen.
