Pslam 52
Devotional:
But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I will always trust in God’s unfailing love. (Psalm 52:8)
Trusting God is often easier said than done. There are times when we think we can handle things on our own, or that we have to make the wrong choice to get the right result. In comparing the God-fearing believer to a flourishing olive tree, David shows us what trust does. The olive tree is an evergreen — it doesn’t wither as seasons in our lives change. Trust keeps us rooted in God, and in His house we are safe and protected. And like an olive tree, trust makes us beautiful and fruitful and alive. Even when we think our way is best, we must remember to trust God by putting down roots that drink deep of His boundless love.

Pray it:
Father, thank you for your constant love. Help me trust in you and not riches or reputation so that I might flourish forever rather than be blown away like those unreliable foundations. Amen.
