Psalm 139

Devotional:
I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! (Psalm 139:7)

I will praise and thank the Lord because the Holy Spirit is always with me. Remember that Psalm 132 taught us that God does not leave us alone. This Psalm assures us of the same truth about the Holy Spirit. That is good news! You might assume that verse seven is referring to a desire to hide from God due to sin. If you read it in context, you will see this verse praises God that we cannot hide from Him, even if we try. He will hold onto us and not let go. There is no darkness in life that is dark enough to prevent God from loving us. What a great comfort that God’s grip is stronger than mine!
Pray it:
Father, I praise you for making me, knowing everything about me and loving me. Help me to remember that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and that your Spirit is within me no matter where I might go this day. Amen.
