2 Samuel 23
Devotional:
These are the last words of David: “David, the son of Jesse, speaks—David, the man who was raised up so high, David, the man anointed by the God of Jacob, David, the sweet psalmist of Israel. (2 Samuel 23:1)
Although these are not David’s final words, they are his last inspired song describing the coming Messiah and His righteous reign. Following this prophetic psalm is a catalog of King David’s mighty men. Men who in faith and loyalty risked their lives for the king and kingdom. What about you? Would your name be listed as one of King Jesus’ mighty men/women? Are you willing to risk it all?
