Joshua 19
Devotional:
But the tribe of Dan had trouble taking possession of their land, so they attacked the town of Laish. They captured it, slaughtered its people, and settled there. They renamed the town Dan after their ancestor. (Joshua 19:47).
Life can sometimes feel a little like the inheritance for Dan. There aren’t many details in this brief story, but it seems that Dan’s piece of the Promised Land was lost and then won back. Sometimes we feel like we are owed the good things we have, but promises need to be protected. Marriage, parenting, relationships, even our faith – we need to contend for all of them. Thank God for His promises and never let them go.
