Genesis 19
Devotional:
But Lot’s wife looked back as she was following behind him, and she turned into a pillar of salt. (Genesi 19:26 NLT)
The story of Lot’s wife becoming a pillar of salt has been used to teach people throughout history about obedience to God and the need to focus on His plan. There are times when God removes us from an unhealthy environment, and although we know it is for our good and are thankful to be moving on, we sometimes find ourselves wanting to look back. Satan has a way of enticing us to look back on sin, deceiving us into thinking that we will miss it. Maybe you need that “don’t look back” reminder today. Pray for encouragement to keep your focus on God’s plan for you today, tomorrow, and every day.

Pray it:
Father, help me not to look back – on my past failures or successes, or on the allures and enticements of this world. Instead, help me look to Christ, leaving all those things behind as I follow you into something even greater than all I could ask or imagine. Amen.
