Genesis 44
Devotional:
“So please, my lord, let me stay here as a slave instead of the boy, and let the boy return with his brothers. For how can I return to my father if the boy is not with me? I couldn’t bear to see the anguish this would cause my father!” (Genesis 44:33-34 NLT)
The brothers’ hearts and actions have completely changed from the self-centeredness and lack of concern for their father and their brother that they used to have. Judah offers to do anything to ensure Benjamin can return home to Jacob. We see these big brothers take care of their younger siblings and their older parents. How are you caring for those around you in need? How can you be a “big brother” to family, friends, and complete strangers? Are we desperate to reunite them with our Heavenly Father? Pray that God would change our hearts and actions to enable us to reach out to those who are not connected to Jesus.

Pray it:
Father, help me resist the natural temptation we all have to be self-centered and care for ourselves at the expense of others. Show me who I can serve and bless those around me today and help me have the mind of Christ so that I look for their interests, not my own. Amen.
