Genesis 43
Devotional:
Joseph told each of his brothers where to sit, and to their amazement, he seated them according to age, from oldest to youngest. (Genesis 43:33 NLT)
Joseph’s brothers knew they had messed up, and although they expected punishment from God, they received nothing but goodness. First money and food, and now a feast — it is not surprising that they were looking at each other in astonishment. Through God’s blessings, they repented for their faults. They repented to each other, their father, and Joseph. We all mess up and deserve eternal punishment for the sin that permeates our lives, yet God so loves us that He gave us His Son to give us life. We see God’s goodness everywhere; it seems too good to be true, but it is. You are invited to feast with the King and be made worthy because you are chosen by Him.

Pray it:
Father, thank you for not giving me what I deserve but rather inviting me to feast in your presence through Jesus Christ. May I remember how unworthy I am of your grace and mercy and how wonderful your gifts and goodness are to me. Amen.
