Genesis 33
Devotional:
Then Esau ran to meet him and embraced him, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him. And they both wept. (Genesis 33:4 NLT)
The power of God can change the human heart. When Esau and Jacob were last together, Esau wanted to murder Jacob! These brothers were separated from one another for over 20 years. God replaced the deep resentfulness and hatred in Esau’s heart with forgiveness and love. We are sometimes short-sighted and unwilling to see how God can use us in different relationships. What relationship(s) in your life needs God’s power of reconciliation? Have you invited God’s healing hand into your life?

Pray it:
Father, may the reality of my forgiveness found in Christ help me to be able to forgive and love others, even those who have wronged me in the past. Help me be able to live out Jesus’s call and example of loving his enemy and blessing those who did him wrong. Amen.
