Deuteronomy 2
Devotional:
For the Lord your God has blessed you in everything you have done. He has watched your every step through this great wilderness. During these forty years, the Lord your God has been with you, and you have lacked nothing.”’ (Deuteronomy 2:7)
The Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years because of their disobedience, specifically their lack of trust that God would give them the good land that He promised because it was inhabited with people who struck fear in their hearts. Yet even in this punishment, we see God’s grace as He provided for them in their journeys, guided them through the territories of nations such as Edom (2:1-7), Moab (2:8-15), and Ammon (2:16-23), and then gave victory over the Amorites (2:24-37). Let us respond to the God who never breaks His promise or turns His back on His people by looking to HIm and following His ways.

Pray it:
Father, I praise you for always providing for me even when I don’t deserve it and struggle or refuse to recognize it. Help me to respond to your work and the path you have set before me with thankfulness and faithful obedience. Amen.
