Deuteronomy 22

Devotional:
“If you see your neighbor’s ox or sheep or goat wandering away, don’t ignore your responsibility. Take it back to its owner. (Deuteronomy 22:1).

During a family’s Black Friday shopping trips, they found an envelope that contained $300. That $300 would have been nice to have, but it wasn’t theirs. This was an opportunity to teach their kids that fully respecting and caring for others’ property (even if you are paid nothing and there is no reward) is the standard God calls us to. They turned the envelope in to the manager of Target. People asked, “Don’t you think the store just kept it?” They answered them, “That’s not my issue; we did what we were supposed to do.”  As stated in James 4:17, “Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.” Out of love for the God that chose you, choose to do good today.
Pray it:
Father, help me to do the right thing even when no one is watching – because I know that you are watching. Remind me that all that is in this world, both the things that others have and the things that I have, belongs to you and should be used according to your wishes. Amen.
