Matthew 28

Devotional:
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. (Matt. 28:18b-20a)

Faith Church’s mission is rooted in Jesus’s command to advance His kingdom by means of evangelism and discipleship (known as the Great Commission). If you’re like me, you’re discouraged about your lackluster performance in “reaching the disconnected and growing the connected.” We must come to terms with this truth: you can’t give away what you don’t have. And so, friend, I urge you to join me in making a genuine, prayerful commitment today — right now — to solidly connect to Jesus through learning and practicing true discipleship. Because it is only then that we’ll be able to effectively spread Christ’s life and light to others.
Pray it:
Holy Spirit, help me to remember and obey all that Jesus has taught so that I can invite others to do the same, and remind me of Jesus’s authority and his presence with me as I go about my day and go about this mission he has given us. Amen.
