Deuteronomy 20

Devotional:
When you prepare for battle, the priest must come forward to speak to the troops. He will say to them, ‘Listen to me, all you men of Israel! Do not be afraid as you go out to fight your enemies today! Do not lose heart or panic or tremble before them. For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’ (Deuteronomy 20:2-4)

We often allow fear, panic and anxiety to fill our day. These feelings arise when we think we are alone and that we must do things in our power or think God is not strong enough to be victorious on our behalf. God promises to fight for us and is bigger than any opponent we can imagine. Are you inviting Him into your battles? Are you resting in His fighting abilities over your own? Allow God to speak into these areas and bring you comfort today.
Pray it:
Father, I praise you for your strength and power and for your promise to be with me and fight for me. Help me to be confident and courageous when my heart would be inclined to fear by reminding me of your presence, power, and promises. Amen.
