Deuteronomy 23

Devotional:
The camp must be holy, for the Lord your God moves around in your camp to protect you and to defeat your enemies. He must not see any shameful thing among you, or he will turn away from you. (Deuteronomy 23:14)

The Israelites were not only called to keep the camp holy as a way to reflect the holiness of their God, they were also called to be a holy people; the standard for their lives was not the other nations but rather God Himself. While we might not need to keep a “holy camp,” God also calls us to hold ourselves to His standards as 1 Peter 1:15 states, “As he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct.” Align yourself with God today and know that you’ll be in the light of His holiness.
Pray it:
Father, you truly are holy, holy, holy. Help me to be awestruck by your holiness and to seek to walk in holiness, reflecting who you are. May your name be hallowed in my life. Amen.
