Genesis 34
Devotional:
But three days later, when their wounds were still sore, two of Jacob’s sons, Simeon and Levi, who were Dinah’s full brothers, took their swords and entered the town without opposition. Then they slaughtered every male there, (Genesis 34:25 NLT)
Today we see how God continues to be with His people despite imperfections and screw-ups. Jacob’s sons were angry that their sister had been violated, but they surely did not handle the situation properly. God does not abandon us at the first sign of failure. This story teaches us a lesson on grace. If God so freely lavishes His grace upon us, shouldn’t we be able to live our lives giving grace to others? Maybe you struggle with the ability to give grace to an individual, organization, or certain authority in your life. Take a moment to praise and thank God for the grace He gives us and ask Him to empower you with the ability to give grace to others.

Father, thank you for your grace to me, for not holding my sins against me but casting them as far away as the east is from the west. May the pouring out of your grace on me lead to me show grace towards others, pointing them to your amazing grace. Amen.
