Luke 9
Devotional:
When Herod Antipas, the ruler of Galilee, heard about everything Jesus was doing, he was puzzled. Some were saying that John the Baptist had been raised from the dead. Others thought Jesus was Elijah or one of the other prophets risen from the dead. “I beheaded John,” Herod said, “so who is this man about whom I hear such stories?” And he kept trying to see him. (Luke 9:7-9)
We have an enemy who works hard to discredit the truth of the gospel. But the reality of who Jesus is and the effect he has on our lives can create a curiosity that causes others to seek him out. There is a lot of misinformation out there about Jesus, but the more the idea of him pervades our lives and conversations, the greater the likelihood that even enemies will strive to learn more. Do our lives create a buzz about Jesus? You don’t need to be a theological expert to share your faith. Share what Jesus has done for you and watch how he draws even the biggest critics to himself!

Father, help me to live a life that causes people to wonder about Jesus and to be able to point others to the truths about him so that he might change and transform their lives. Amen.
