Luke 15

Devotional:
We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!’” (Luke 15:32)

Every parable in this chapter involves something that was lost and found again. And every parable involves someone who will go to great lengths, not only to find what was lost, but to celebrate finding it again. Heaven is filled with joy over repentant sinners. This world is full of lost people; people who don’t know Jesus. How do we react when sinners come to Jesus? Are we more like the prodigal’s brother or the woman who threw a party to celebrate a lost coin? Don’t discount the blessing of your own salvation and don’t refuse to join in the jubilation of heaven when salvation comes to others.
Pray it:
Father, thank you for seeking me when I was lost and rejoicing in finding me. Help me to find joy in and be devoted to your saving work in this world. Amen.
