Luke 16
Devotional:
“But Abraham said, ‘If they won’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won’t be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’” (Luke 16:31)
Jesus often spoke in prophetic tones that echoed his own death and resurrection, but he also didn’t sugarcoat anything. Jesus’s coming didn’t negate the Old Testament law and prophets – he fulfilled them. The whole of scripture points to one thing: Jesus. The Bible can be difficult and convicting to read, but it also breathes life into our broken souls. Spend time in God’s Word. Find Jesus in the law and the prophets and let him whisper healing words into your heart so that you can find new life in him. Jesus still speaks. Are you listening?

Pray it:
Father, thank you for all the ways you point me to Jesus in your Holy Word. As I read your Word, show me more and more of the work of Jesus so that I may make him the center of my life and my thoughts. Amen.
