Acts 25
Devotional:
Instead, it was something about their religion and a dead man named Jesus, who Paul insists is alive. (Acts 25:19)
We may wonder why the Jewish leaders were so adamant in Paul’s elimination, sparing no expense in time, travel and cost. It was true that the Jewish leaders did not like Paul because of his missionary work and what they perceived as his violations of Jewish law, but it was Jesus they were still persecuting and torturing. Almost 30 years after Jesus’ death on the cross, they were still denying the promised Messiah and opposing his work, even after his resurrection. But the Apostle Paul never stopped preaching about the risen Christ (1 Corinthians 1:23). How passionate and confident are we that our Savior Jesus is alive?

Pray it:
Jesus, help me to remember that you are still alive and continue to work in me and in your church. Remind me not just of the truth of your resurrection but also its power even when it is denied or opposed by others.
