Psalms 6

Devotional:
Return, O Lord, and rescue me.
Save me because of your unfailing love. (Psalm 6:4).

David, the author of Psalm 6, once again calls our attention to God’s steadfast love. David asks God to deliver him from his troubles for the sake of God’s steadfast love. We always want to be mindful as we pray that we are to appeal to God’s love and mercy not to our own goodness. When you ask God for help, add “for the sake of your steadfast love.” It will serve as a constant reminder of how great His love is in your life.
Pray it:
Father, I turn to you not from a sense of entitlement, believing that you should help me because of my own goodness…for I have sinned and fall short of your glory each day. Instead, I cry out because of your faithful love and ask you to keep your promise and glorify yourself in my life and circumstances. Amen.
