Psalms 14

Devotional:
The Lord looks down from heaven
    on the entire human race;
he looks to see if anyone is truly wise,
    if anyone seeks God. (Psalm 14:2).

This verse pictures God seated in His heavenly throne room, scanning the earth and searching for those who seek Him. Are you that person? God calls us to seek Him. “You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). Jesus promises that if you seek first God’s kingdom and righteousness, all else will be added unto you as well (Matthew 6:33). Will you seek His kingdom today?
Pray it:
Father, I confess that left to my own devices, I would never seek after you or follow your ways. May your Spirit lead me to seek your kingdom ahead of my own desires and to search for you, and may I discover the truth behind these promises to find you and even greater things. Amen.
