Psalms 22
Devotional:
My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
Why are you so far away when I groan for help? (Psalm 22:1)
If these words sound familiar to you, it may be because Jesus said these words when he was on the cross. Jesus was forsaken by God when he died on the cross and took on himself the sins of us all. We read in Romans 5:8, “But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” That is good news! How will you respond to that good news today? Psalm 22 suggests two ways we can respond: “I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.” (verses 22). Praise the Lord today — and tell someone what Jesus has done for you.

Pray it:
Father, I thank you that because Jesus was forsaken on the cross, I have been forgiven by you. Help me to rejoice in that truth, reflect it in my life, and tell it to others. Amen.
