Psalms 29
Devotional:
Honor the Lord, you heavenly beings;
honor the Lord for his glory and strength.
Honor the Lord for the glory of his name.
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. (Psalm 29:1-2).
This Psalm talks a lot about the power of God’s voice and what His voice does, but the Psalm begins by calling the heavenly beings – the angels – to ascribe (give, attribute) glory and honor to God. We, too, can worship and glorify God…and we have reasons to! Not only is His voice powerful, but He is enthroned as King forever (verse 10). Because of who He is, He can indeed give strength to His people and bless us with peace (verse 11). As we remember what God can do, let’s join with all creation and worship the Lord today.

Pray it:
Father, help me join with the angels who sing your praises and proclaim your majesty. You alone are worthy of my praise because of your matchless power and gracious rule. Amen.
