Exodus 6
Devotional:
You can be sure that I have heard the groans of the people of Israel, who are now slaves to the Egyptians. And I am well aware of my covenant with them. “Therefore, say to the people of Israel: ‘I am the Lord. I will free you from your oppression and will rescue you from your slavery in Egypt. I will redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment. (Exodus 6:5-6).
God hears the people’s cry at the end of Exodus 5 and responds that He will save them. He also reminds them that he is a faithful God…and has been throughout their history. But God’s answer is not immediate. The people still need to wait, and waiting is hard, isn’t it? We may know and trust all of those same things about how faithful and true God will be to rescue us, but until it happens, we need to wait.
What are you waiting for from God right now? What do you need from Him as you wait for that deliverance? Ask Him for those things and thank Him for His faithfulness as you pray today.

Pray it:
Father, help me to trust your timing and to wait on you in the trials and challenges I face in life. Remind me of your faithfulness to me in the past, and help me praise you for when you prove yourself faithful yet again. Amen.
