Exodus 13

Devotional:
So Moses said to the people, “This is a day to remember forever—the day you left Egypt, the place of your slavery. Today the Lord has brought you out by the power of his mighty hand. (Remember, eat no food containing yeast.) (Exodus 13:3).

It is amazing to see how God leads His people with the cloud during the day and the pillar of fire at night. In a day when there was no Google Maps or Waze, God provided direction. He still does this for us today through His Word and the Holy Spirit.

Even though we do not celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread as Christians today, we do not want to gloss over the description of it in this chapter. It is interesting to see there is a call to live based on thankfulness for what God had done for them. This principle is still in effect for us. Out of our thankfulness for the freedom Christ gave to us, we are called to live our lives in the way He calls us. We can’t receive the gift and ignore the calling.

Are there miraculous ways God has led you? Are you living your life out of thankfulness for what He has done?
Pray it:
Father, thank you for saving me through Jesus and for your constant hand of provision and guidance. Help me to remember both what you have done for me and also to give thanks for your amazing work in the past, present…and future. Amen.
