Exodus 19
Devotional:
Then the Lord told Moses, “Go down and prepare the people for my arrival. Consecrate them today and tomorrow, and have them wash their clothing. Be sure they are ready on the third day, for on that day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai as all the people watch. (Exodus 19:10-11).
Exodus 19 begins the period of time when the Israelites were at Mount Sinai. Their time there begins with a time of consecration, a time of preparation for meeting with their God.
I am so thankful you are participating in the Cover-to-Cover reading plan where you are intentionally meeting with God. I wonder if we could be people who add “preparation” to our corporate worship routine. I think many of us are usually rushed as we go to a worship service and finally breathe normally once we sit down in the Worship Center. What would happen if we added preparation to the process before we arrived?
This weekend, take time to pray and prepare before the worship service in order to get ready to encounter our God.

Father, I confess that I don’t always reflect upon your holiness in my daily life and as I prepare to worship you with your people. Help me to remember who you are and to stand prepared in heart and mind to both worship you and to respond to your Word. Amen.
