Exodus 25
Devotional:
“Have the people of Israel build me a holy sanctuary so I can live among them. (Exodus 25:8).
This chapter is the beginning of God’s instructions to His people to make a tabernacle. We can get confused in the details, so it is important to keep the big picture in mind: in constructing the tabernacle, God shows the people He wants to be present with them. Prior to this, it was Moses who met with God on the mountain top, and even then, Moses could not see God face-to-face. While the face-to-face meeting still isn’t going to happen, God is making plans to have a presence among His people.
It is important for us to realize we worship a God who desires to be with us. We need to be thankful that through Jesus, we have the ability to be in God’s presence at any time and from anywhere.
Now, if only they could find the Ark of the Covenant in that government storage facility… :)

Pray it:
Father, thank you for desiring to dwell with your people. Jesus, thank you for taking on flesh and dwelling here on earth. Holy Spirit, thank you for taking up residence in me so that I can now be a temple of God. Help me remember that there is truly nowhere I can go that is away from your presence. Amen.
