Exodus 37
Devotional:
Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood . . . He constructed the table of acacia wood . . . Then he made the lampstand out of pure hammered gold . . . He made the altar of incense out of acacia wood (Exodus 37:1a, 10a, 17a, 25a).
Here we see and should celebrate the obedience of God’s people. There are many times when they’ve messed up, but here we see the craftsmen are making the elements exactly as instructed (look back to the instructions in Exodus 25). They aren’t claiming to have a better way or design. Often we want to beat ourselves up when we mess up, but we also need to take the time to celebrate our times of obedience! When we stumble and mess up, we need to remember that we will have other moments of faithful obedience to our God.

Pray it:
Father, help me not to dwell on my failures but to remember and celebrate the times I obey and follow you. May I give you praise for those times, seeing how you are at work in me, and may those moments cause me to see that your Spirit can lead me to live more unto righteousness as I await your return or your call home. Amen.
