Leviticus 13
Devotional:
“These are the instructions for dealing with mildew that contaminates woolen or linen clothing or fabric or anything made of leather. This is how the priest will determine whether these items are ceremonially clean or unclean.” (Leviticus 13:59)
The Israelites were to maintain a ceremonially clean community, which involved checking for diseases to keep them from spreading. The diseased individual was instructed to cry out “Unclean! Unclean!” — not for humiliation, but to warn and protect others. We tend to hide our hurts, hangups and habits, but when others are aware of our struggles, they can support and encourage us. Jesus came so we may be cleansed and healed. This happens in part through the community he created to encourage and support one another through trials and challenges. What are you keeping to yourself rather than asking for support and encouragement?

Father, I thank you for the people you put into my life who can help me in and with my struggles. Help me to be open and honest with others so that I might experience more of your life-transforming power in my life.
