Leviticus 15

Devotional:
“When the man with the discharge is healed, he must count off seven days for the period of purification. Then he must wash his clothes and bathe himself in fresh water, and he will be ceremonially clean. (Leviticus 15:31)

Being ceremonially clean was required for participation in worship. Though there is nothing wrong with natural bodily functions, it shows us that left alone in our natural state, we are a mess. Just as the Israelites needed to be taught how to deal with their natural state, we need to be taught how to deal with our sinful nature so that we honor the Lord in all that we do. While we can physically cleanse ourselves, Jesus Christ is the only one who can spiritually cleanse us. Is your life holy and fit to house God, or are there areas in your life that are in need of a deep clean? May your prayer today be for God to identify and cleanse these areas.

Pray it:
Father, help me stay away from the things that I am drawn to that make me unclean spiritually, and purify me through the blood of Christ of the places in my life that have become unclean because of my choices. Amen.
