Romans 5

Devotional:
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8)

God’s love is unique above all others. He did not wait until we had everything figured out. He is not interested in what we look like or how smart or strong or polished we are. He loves us even when we are at our worst. It is in our weakness and brokenness that God’s love shines brightest. Do not get down about where you have fallen short. Take joy in knowing that God’s love is greater than our sin and shame. He saved us when we were wholly undeserving. He loved us at our worst so we could be made new in the best form of love the world has ever known.
Pray it:
Jesus, thank you for loving me when I was a mess and even in the messes I can continue to make in my life. Thank you for dying for me while I was still a sinner. Help me to love others the way you love me. Amen!
