Romans 6
Devotional:
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
When you have a job, you are paid a wage based on the work you do; gifts are free…we don’t have to do anything to receive a gift! No matter how hard we try, anything we do on our own will only earn us death. That is why sin enslaves us and rules our lives, and there is no way to avoid the consequence of death. Christ set us free from the slavery of sin and offered us a gift we did not earn. He paid off the debt owed to us because of our sin and, in dying, made it possible for us to receive eternal life. We only have to accept the gift. Thank God for the unfathomable gift of life in Him forever through Jesus Christ!

Pray it:
Jesus, thank you for rescuing me from the penalty and the power of sin and help me to remember the truth of my forgiveness and my freedom from sin that comes through you. Amen.
