Romans 8
Devotional:
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35, 38-39)
Oh, that we might all rest in the same confidence as Paul! It’s hard not to choose this whole chapter as the ‘verse’ to be quoted above. There is nothing — no thing — more powerful than God’s love for us. He loves us so deeply and so completely that He does not let anything stand in the way of that love. We are His. Forever! Whatever you are facing, have faced, or will face, know that God’s love is greater. The heart of the Creator beats with endless love for you! Take hope! Take confidence! Take joy! God loves you!

Father, I thank you for this wonderful truth that nothing can separate me from the love you have for me in Christ. Help me to remember that when I hear the lies of the evil one that tells me otherwise. Amen!
