Proverbs 8
Devotional:
For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord. But those who fail to find me harm themselves; all who hate me love death.” (Proverbs 8:35-36).
This chapter is written in praise of wisdom and the pursuit of wisdom. In our key verses, two incredible gifts are noted for those who pursue wisdom: life and favor from the Lord! When we love true wisdom, we receive these. However, when we reject wisdom, we hurt ourselves by wronging our own souls and loving death. Wise living glorifies God and also works for our good.

Lord, I don’t want to hurt myself by following my own ways. Speak truth and wisdom into my life so that I may find favor from you. I don’t want to merely follow you for my own benefit but so that I might give you all the honor and praise that you deserve. Amen.
