Proverbs 15
Devotional:
A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. (Proverbs 15:1).
Have you noticed that when people approach you in wrath or with an angry attitude your response tends to be equally (or even more) angry in attitude? This concept was noted by Solomon many years ago, and it’s still very true today. Wisdom points to the value of a soft and “not unkind” answer. A soft answer – one without points or sharp edges – can actually turn away any oncoming wrath. When you get the opportunity (and I’m sure you will), try a purposely soft answer. It’s amazing how well this can work!

Pray it:
Lord, lift me out of the endless cycle of anger and frustration and help me have a calm spirit and soft spoken words when I would naturally speak and act in anger. May my softness bring a peace that allows for constructive conversation rather than irrational arguments. Amen.
