Proverbs 16
Devotional:
When people’s lives please the Lord, even their enemies are at peace with them. (Proverbs 16:7).
This chapter is a nice carryover from Saturday’s chapter 15. These verses point out that we can and should strive to live a life that pleases God. We are not perfect and shouldn’t claim to be; this will happen only after our salvation is completed in our resurrection and glorification. The idea, though, is that as Christians, we should try to live a life that honors and pleases the Lord. When we do, even those who oppose us will have a respect for us because of the way we respect them as commanded by our Creator God.

Pray it:
Lord, we live in a culture of disunity and hatred where we can often create enemies. Allow us to live in such a way that brings peace in the midst of chaos as we speak and act in accordance with your truth. Amen.
