Proverbs 18

Devotional:
The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10).

God provides a wonderful and safe defense for us. This is not just in the speaking of His name as if it were some sort of lucky charm, but in the name of the Lord as a declaration of who He is. In all that He is and stands for, the Lord certainly is a strong tower. We find love, mercy, strength, and righteousness in the name of the Lord. Within the walls of this strong tower, we should have no worries because nothing can harm us. God invites all to find refuge in His name because whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Are you taking refuge in the Lord or seeking it somewhere else?

Pray it:
Lord, when I find myself in trouble or worrying about the world around me, help me remember that you are my hiding place and that nothing else compares to your love and comfort. Help me to share your unconditional love and power to save with those around me. Amen.
