Proverbs 30
Devotional:
Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection. Do not add to his words, or he may rebuke you and expose you as a liar. (Proverbs 30:5-6).
Agur valued God’s Word as being completely true, and because it is true, whatever trials God’s Word is exposed to, it will always come out as being true. Note further that God’s Word needs no addition or improvement from us; we don’t need to take away from His Words or add to them. Let us hold fast to the Words of God that are always true and all-sufficient for our beliefs and behaviors.

Pray it:
God, how blessed I am to encounter your true, living Word. Help me never to add to your Word but to trust in it as a shield of protection over my life. May I use your Word to live my life and to lead others to know you. Amen.

What would Agur consider as the word of God in his time? The first 5 books of the Bible we have today? Teachings of the prophets?
