Numbers 4
Devotional:
“The duties of the Kohathites at the Tabernacle will relate to the most sacred objects. (Numbers 4:4).
Chapter 4 has a detailed count of the Levites according to groups (Kohathites, Gershon, and Merari) and a listing of their duties: assembling, taking down, and caring for the tabernacle. While the list of names and duties can be hard to follow, we see in them that God is in the details and wants great care taken in every aspect of creating God’s dwelling place. It’s with the same care and precision that the Lord cares for his church today. He is keenly interested in every aspect of our lives and doesn’t leave details to chance. Thanks be to God that He cares for us like this — that no detail of our lives escapes His eye! May we also serve Him with great precision and care, being faithful in our callings.
