Psalms 37

Devotional:
Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. (Psalm 37:3).

David gives us wise instruction for living as God’s people when those around us do not honor God. For example, in verse 3, David calls us first to trust in the Lord, to look to him and lean on him even when wrongdoers trouble us. Second, he instructs us to dwell in the land, living out our faith in the nations and neighborhoods where we live. And third, he challenges us to befriend faithfulness even when people around us have no desire to honor God. How are you doing in these areas? Trust God to use your witness as you live out your faith, even among those who do not honor God.
Pray it:
Father, help me stay faithful to you and turn away from evil even when those around me are not. May my delight and trust in you allow me to resist the temptations that come my way and model to others the life that you have designed us for. Amen.
