Romans 7
Devotional:
And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. (Romans 7:18)
Have you ever known the right thing to do, but still did the wrong thing? How did that make you feel? Did you feel helpless? Ashamed? Weak? We have all been there, and it is defeating. Thankfully, we serve a God who knows just how helpless we are, and Jesus actually sympathizes with us in our weakness. Sin is a powerful thing, but it cannot measure up to the power of God! Don’t live in the cycle of failure and disappointment that sin started. Rest in reliance on a Redeemer who did what we couldn’t do. Let your weakness always point you to a God who is strong enough to set us free.

Pray it:
Father, I need your help each and every day to continue to resist sin and temptation. Help me remember that your power is greater than my weakness and help me live into the new life that you have purchased for me in Christ. Amen.
