Exodus 8
Devotional:
But when Pharaoh saw that relief had come, he became stubborn. He refused to listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had predicted. (Exodus 8:15).
Frogs, gnats, and flies — we may read this chapter and just gloss over how nasty each of these all-encompassing plagues would be. Take a moment and try to imagine what each of these plagues would look like (all the frogs coming onto the land), feel (gnats and flies all over everything), and smell (dead frogs). When you imagine it, you can understand why Pharaoh pleaded for the plagues to be removed. Yet, whenever the plagues are removed, Pharoah quickly forgets and does not worship the only true God.
Appreciate the power that God has and be thankful we aren’t living in the midst of these plagues today. Let us not harden our hearts in these moments but rather give thanks to God.

Pray it:
Father, thank you for the reminder of your power as I read about these plagues. Thank you for sparing me from the ultimate punishment from my sins and also for your discipline of me when I might stray to bring me back to yourself. Help praise your power and trust your goodness on this day. Amen.
