Exodus 12

Devotional:
For the Lord will pass through the land to strike down the Egyptians. But when he sees the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe, the Lord will pass over your home. He will not permit his death angel to enter your house and strike you down. (Exodus 12:23).

When we read the Old Testament, we have the ability to read it by looking back through the cross of Jesus to help us understand what we read. Take some time and look for comparisons between the Passover Lamb and Jesus. What similarities do you see?

At the end of the chapter we see that the Israelites were in Egypt 430 years. There had to be times of doubting that God would fulfill His covenant to bring them into the Promised Land. But he does. He is faithful.

Take time to thank God for His ultimate Passover Lamb, Jesus! In times of waiting and doubt, look to the fact that God saved His people out of Egypt and has sent Jesus at just the right time for us.
Pray it:
Jesus, thank you for being the ultimate Passover Lamb, showing God’s love and faithfulness to us in the midst of our sinful wanderings. Thank you for coming at just the right time, and help me to remember that you will return at just the right time as well. Amen.
