Acts 26

Devotional:
Agrippa interrupted him. “Do you think you can persuade me to become a Christian so quickly?”  Paul replied, “Whether quickly or not, I pray to God that both you and everyone here in this audience might become the same as I am, except for these chains.” (Acts 26:28-29)

During Paul’s defense in front of Agrippa, he explained his position as a Pharisee, his persecution of Christians, and even how he voted to put Christians to death. But then he told of his conversion on his journey to Damascus and how he was commissioned by the Lord to preach to the Gentiles. And finally, he proclaimed his belief in Jesus, being the first to be resurrected and the offer of salvation in His name. While Festus thought Paul was crazy, Agrippa, somewhat amusingly, asked Paul if he was trying to convert him! Without backing down, Paul emphatically and emotionally said, yes. Paul’s boldness in preaching the gospel is legendary. Are we prepared to preach the same to those who may be in higher authoritative positions over us? A spouse? Family member? Employer? Politician?
Pray it:
Father, fill me with the boldness to proclaim and testify to the truth of the gospel wherever you might take me and to whomever you place in my path. Amen.
