Psalms 27
Devotional:
The one thing I ask of the Lord—
the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
delighting in the Lord’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple. (Psalm 27:4).
If you could ask one thing of the Lord what would it be? In verse 4, David’s one request is to dwell in the house of the Lord, to gaze upon his beauty and seek him in his temple. When we take time to gaze upon the grace, mercy, compassion and glory of the Lord, we realize nothing else in this world can compare. There’s an old hymn that says, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.” What a great choice — may we turn to Jesus and dwell with him each day.

Pray it:
Father, thank you for being my light and my salvation. Rather than fearing the things of this world, help me to turn my face towards you and be gripped by the beauty of your grace, mercy, compassion, and glory. Amen.
