Proverbs 19
Devotional:
Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs. (Proverbs 19:11).
We know it isn’t necessarily weakness or lack of courage that makes someone slow to anger. It may very well be wisdom, stated in this verse as “good sense.” A truly wise person knows that he or she has been forgiven much, and this knowledge affects how they deal with others. We know that we shouldn’t hold everyone accountable for each offense because we know how it feels to have our most serious offenses overlooked. May our recognition of the forgiveness we receive from God through Christ make us slow to anger and able to overlook an offense.

Pray it:
God, You have been so gracious to me and have shown unmeasurable mercy. Help me to remember your unending and amazing grace and to be slow to anger when dealing with difficult people or circumstances, bringing to mind your love and grace to me when I sin. Amen.
